La Extravaganza: A Red Carpet Affair

Tickets Now Available! Los Artistas del Barrio Buffalo are back to celebrate with you!

Please join us for an elegant, funky, and fun evening that will highlight the work Los Artistas have been doing throughout the community.

Los Artistas del Barrio Buffalo is thrilled to have Asbury Arts Center as our new location and we want you to check out our new digs.

And for the first time, we will be honoring a Friend of Los Artistas. This year, our very first recipient of this award will be going to Charles Torres, President of the Puerto Rican & Hispanic Day Parade of WNY. Mr. Torres was instrumental in making the most recent mural on Niagara Street (la Avenida San Juan) happen. Without his outreach and trust in us, Espíritu de Carolina (the Roberto Clemente mural) would have never happened. Los Artistas is proud to deliver our first award to our friend, Charlie, and we hope you will be there to celebrate with us!

Performances, artwork, a short film, and lots of music (DJ and live band) will be part of our evening affair. We will also be hosting a silent auction of our work.

Choose the Red Carpet VIP ticket and meet the artists. Your favorite artists will bestow a gift to you! And as a thank you for your support, every Red Carpet VIP ticket will have their picture taken as the stars! So dress to impress!

Please note there is a cash bar. We will have light appetizers to enjoy throughout the evening. Los Artistas del Barrio thanks you all for your never-ending support.

We look forward to enjoying the night with you!

Typography of Women: I Am Not Invisible -A project to bring awareness and support to the fight against Human Trafficking

Los Artistas del Barrio Buffalo is proud to be a collaborative partner in this far-reaching community project under the leadership of Celeste Lawson. Below is an abstract of the project, which will be a testament to how the arts can heal the spirits, minds and hearts of those who have been victims of sex trafficking and other kinds of violence against women and children. There will be more information to come.

“Typography Of Women: I Am Not Invisible project is a three-part project that includes a live stage performance, a public discussion and forum and an art exhibit themed around human trafficking and each individual artists’ own interpretation of that theme and what it means to them at any point in time.

The stage performance takes place on Saturday, March 21, 2020 in Rockwell Hall Performing Arts Center, the public forum on Sunday, March 22, 2020 in the Burchfield Penny Museum.

The art exhibit that will display Los Artistas Del Barrio Buffalo’s artworks will open on Friday, March 6 and run until March 27 at CEPA Gallery located at 617 Main Street. An opening reception will be held at CEPA Friday, March 6 from 5:30 PM -9:00 PM in their Underground Gallery.

“Supporting efforts to fight human trafficking, and raising awareness among the general public on the powerful impact that trafficking has on the lives of millions of people is of vital importance when it comes to enlisting their involvement in this war on modern day slavery. As an artist, your participation as an activist is a welcome and essential ingredient in this crime fighting undertaking. Thank you. The Typography of Women project is deeply honored to have your support.”-- Celeste Lawson, Producer/Project Director/Co-Director Typography of Women: I Am Not Invisible Cmlpoet17@gmail.com
